What is it for you paradise?
– Is it the ‘fleeting moment when you satisfy your uncontrollable desire to possess “that pair of shoes” … you really love?
–Or is it that strawberry “tiramisu” sliding down your throat after a two weeks long diet, before summer ??
To me, paradise is absolute silence, when I look out the window or I sit alone in a corner, in front of pure nature, a nature that speaks while mankind does not listen.
To me, silence is the soul’ rest, and even if there is no ‘ Wi-Fi, I can assure you that I find there the best connection … to myself!
St Moritz is the place with this talent.
For those of you who do not know it, it is a municipality in the Swiss Canton of Grisons, one of the world’s most popular, chic, elegant and exclusive resort.
One of the highest points of the place is Piz Nair (3057 mt above sea level), we can “climb” comfortably via cable-car, even if not skiing, where we can sunbathe, take nice pictures in the breathtaking scenery and eat rosti !!
There are many good reasons to choose St. Moritz.
Located in the Upper Engadine, at an altitude of 1,856 m, St. Moritz has a much above average number of sunny days per year, which allows you to enjoy a lunch on the terrace of the Carlton hotel or to practice your favorite sport.
Tourists from around the world appreciate the modern alpine lifestyle characterized by gourmet restaurants and the Serlas street, a small shopping paradise, with all the best brands, while, just around the corner, you can find local specialties like the famous Engadin nut tart.
St. Moritz hosts the annual Polo World Cup on Snow, the prestigious winter polo tournament on snow which attracts more than 15,000 spectators to St. Moritz Lake (in January).
If you are an adventurous soul you can enjoy sledding or snowkiting, the alternative winter exciting experiences to kitesurfing. On the iced Lake Silvaplana you can be carried away by the Maloja wind while skiing or snowboarding. To the experienced connoisseurs, however, the real gem is the White Lake on the Bernina Pass.
If your soul is more romantic you cannot miss a trip on the horse-drawn carriage around the lake, through the Staz Forrest or the smart resort of St. Moritz, enjoying the scenery while relaxing to the rhythmic sound of the coach – like in a fairy tale .
Afterwards I recommend you to warm your body with a nice hot chocolate with cream at Hanselmann, a gourmet paradise, filled with VIP’s from all over the world: just walk-in through the door to see that.
And to round off the day have a nice dinner at Chesa Veglia. In 1936, its owner, the Badrutt’s Palace Hotel, transformed ‘this historic chalet in St Moritz city-center, into an exclusive meeting place. The variety of menus make Chesa Veglia a typical destination for local and visitor gourmets.
Therefore you can tell me now! What is it for you paradise?
Just leave your comment here please. Thank you!
Wishing you a lovely day!!
